gStories: Aubrey & Harper on the go
We love hearing from you about how gDiapers fits into your lifestyle, even when you’re on the go, like Aubrey and her eight-month-old daughter, Harper. We asked Aubrey for a little background on why she chose gDiapers.
Describe what you love most about your daughter.
Harper is my world. She’s a joy to be around, full of smiles and giggles. Strangers are drawn to her, and she’s not shy about receiving the attention either! I can already tell she’ll be adventurous, the way she takes on new milestones with determination and excitement.
You are on the go a lot. How to do you manage having what you need for Harper while accomplishing your own goals?
I’ve always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, so starting a family was a dream come true for me. That being said, I stay ambitious with my personal goals; I manage a branch of party and event services and stay active in local groups and organizations. I even nanny a five-month-old boy a few days during the week, and I love that all I have to bring for Harper is an extra gPant and liners; it’s much less bulky than having to bring six or seven all-in-one or pocket diapers. It’s so much fun being able to do the things I love with my peanut by my side (thank goodness for babywearing!).
What do you love most about gDiapers?
We tested a few brands and decided nothing else was worth using because we love gDiapers so much more! I love g’s because although we use cloth inserts 99% of the time, the Disposable Inserts are great for traveling. I also love that g’s reduce the amount of laundry compared to all-in-one or pocket cloth diapers. I’ve even gotten three friends to switch from disposables to g’s and one friend to switch from Bumgenius to g’s.
How do you set up your diapering station at home?
We keep our Cloth Inserts stacked in a basket on the dresser where her changing pad is. A basket on the other end of the dresser holds extra gPants and pouches.
Any advice for gMums?
Even if you use cloth inserts most of the time, have a stock of disposable inserts to use when life is feeling a bit chaotic, or you’re just feeling extra tired or busy, and you know a poopy diaper is on its way. Also ask for help. One time we were experiencing a bit of leaking when it was time to size up from small to medium. Harper is tall and skinny, so she moved up in size before she hit the weight limit suggested for smalls. I have to give a big thanks to the gMums on Facebook who were able to give me advice when that happened.
What is your favorite part about being a mom?
Harper’s close with her dad and grandparents—always lights up when she sees them. But the way she hugs me when she gets back to mom, melts my heart every time. I had always said I wanted all boys, but now, I just couldn’t imagine my life without my mini!
We agree, Aubrey! When it comes down to it, diapers should just be about allowing you to enjoy your little one, going on adventures and discovering the love between you both.
