After 7+ years of covering your babies bums, we think it’s about time we told you who we are, what the heck we do here, and why the gosh darn we do it. So today we kick off our Meet the gTeam blog series with a game and a giveaway. The prize? A $50 gift certificate to use on gDiapers.com. Woo hoo!
How this will work:
- See if you can match the gTeam baby pic to the correct name.
- Leave a blog comment with your match guesses. Do as many as you want, but do at least a few. Because it’s FUN.
- Aaaaand that’s it. You’re then entered to win. The winner will be drawn at random from the blog comments on Monday, March 18, 2013. We’ll tell you the answers on Monday, too.
When the game’s all over, we’ll start rolling out some biographies, videos, photos, interviews, trivia and goodness knows what else about each one of us. Why? Because some of you have said you’d kinda like to know us a bit better. We’re just people that make earth-friendly diapers. But we have this here blog, and apparently, some time on our hands, so here we go!

It’s simple really. Earth Hour is on March 23rd. It’s when the world comes together to completely unplug for a whole hour. Because change starts with actions that are as simple as flipping a switch to “off.”
As part of Earth Hour, individuals, groups, organizations and (even) countries are proposing challenges. “I Will if You Will.” The idea is to get you to commit to a new act or behavior that has a positive effect on our global community. So we’ve crafted one of our own.
Commit to planting a seed between now and Earth Day (so we’re giving you an even longer time frame to work with here), and in exchange we’ll let our kids run the office for a whole day. Not kidding. The spreadsheets are going to be so colorful! Just think of what new products they’ll come up with! All you have to do is click on through to our challenge and click “I accept.” That’s it. If 5,000 people do it, it’s game on at gHQ. And it’s going to be nuts.

One might think that diapers would be the simplest decision a parent could make for their baby. Diapers only have one function after all: make sure baby’s waste doesn’t end up all over the place.
It used to be an incredibly simple decision. You used what was available (which probably meant an absorbent piece of cloth and a sturdy rubber pant). But then someone had to jump in there and make it all complicated by adding OPTIONS for goodness sake. It’s become a battle royale. Diaper vs diaper. Cloth diapers vs disposable diapers. And ohmyword then there’s ANOTHER choice with gDiapers, which is a hybrid of both.

We make diapers.
So you’d think that diapers is our business.
It is. And it isn’t.
Our business is this: we want to eliminate the status quo that conventional disposable diapers are the first thing we reach for to diaper our babies. We want disposable diapers as we know them to become a thing of the past. A brief blip in human history, an “oops” and a slip into a habit of convenience, a regret that we can learn from, evolve beyond, and then put behind us.

Today I saw this ad for New York Life on the back of a magazine. It prompted me to immediately send a text saying “I just wanted you to know that you are indeed a hero to our kids.” What other brands have done this for you? What other ads have you seen that have inspired you to do something other than just buy their product?

We are so honored to be able to welcome the gift of love, our limited edition gPant to benefit an inspirational organization that we cherish with all our hearts, Hands to Hearts International. The gift of love gPant is decked out in a rainbow of x’s and o’s, because nothing says I love you like a warm hug. Nothing communicates human affection quite like a sweet kiss. And the two combined are a powerful tool for improving lives in a big big way. It’s about love.
