Thank you to John Kinnear, of Ask Your Dad Blog, for joining in the “This takes guts” blog series, just in time for Father’s Day.
Being a Dad Takes Guts
I was never truly brave until I became a dad. I was never truly brave, because before becoming a father, I was never truly afraid. Like a fortune cookie once told me: Bravery is not the absence of fear. Bravery is being afraid and doing it anyway. Lucky number 978268545.

Thank you to Scotty Schrier, of Dads Who Change Diapers, for joining in the “This takes guts” blog series, just in time for Father’s Day.
I used to be smart. I used to be calm, cool, collected. I was in control …
then I had kids.
In the last four years, I have questioned every belief I’ve had. I’ve even questioned my sanity. And I wouldn’t change a second of it.

Parenthood takes guts. Raising another human being to be the very best human that they can be is no easy endeavor. So how do we do it? One. Breath. At a time. Thank you to Jason Graham-Nye, CEO and co-founder of gDiapers, for kicking off our “This takes guts” blog series, just in time for Father’s Day.
Fatherhood is quite the trip.
With no instruction book included, early on at least parenting seems to be a series of stumbles and falls and then a semblance of survival. Below is a note to you, from our own Kim Graham-Nye, president and co-founder of gDiapers.
Dear g Mamas and Pappas,
I wanted to write a note to all our amazing gPeeps and fill you in on what I have been up to these past few months. Back in January, Jason made a very difficult decision and he asked me to take a 6 month sabbatical away from gDiapers. This was hard for him to say. And harder for me to hear. gDiapers is my baby. I could never leave it. But he could see that the years of pressure, lack of sleep, and endless juggling between mum and company president had passed the point of just being unhealthy and were now truly destroying my spirit.
There were many tears from my side, along with feelings of anger, humiliation, and betrayal. Even in the midst of falling apart, it is crazy how hard we hold on to our patterns and illusions.

Thank you to our marketing manager, Doe, for giving us this homegrown backstory.
Hemp. Eat it. Wear it.
Hemp? Yup. We know what you’re thinking. So let’s get the elephant out of the room now: hemp is NOT cannabis. It’s NOT marijuana. And if you use our cloth inserts, your baby has benefited from the breathability, absorbency and the antibacterial properties of one of the earth’s most sustainable fibers. Next week, we’ll be joining the Hemp History Week campaign, the national grassroots education campaign designed to amplify support for hemp farming in the U.S.

So you’re strolling down the beach. You lean down to scoop up a perfect sand dollar and oh oh EW! There’s a discarded disposable diaper laying on the sand right next to it! Blech! Vacation time doesn’t mean we need to resort to making more garbage. Abby of Baby Bird’s Farm guest blogs for us about traveling with gDiapers and cloth diapers, cause hey, we think there should be more sand dollars and less diapers left on beaches.
Traveling with Cloth Diapers or Hybrid Diapers?
My family and I just enjoyed a quick family trip out of town. It is getting to be summer and a great time for traveling and visiting family. I imagine others will be planning summer travel soon and wanted to share some tips on how to travel with cloth or hybrid diapers. Traveling with hybrid diapers is super convenient, and with these tips, traveling with cloth diapers may be easier than you think.
