Sometimes you have to say "no" to say "yes"
As you may have heard we recently made the decision to discontinue manufacturing our cloth inserts with our current manufacturer. We searched high and low, but couldn’t find a supplier to produce our inserts to our quality and materials standards. So for now we will instead direct parents who want a cloth insert option to other providers that are suitable for use in our gPants, while we focus on our disposable inserts. We hope to produce our own cloth inserts again in the future, but we don’t have firm plans yet.
To the passionate cloth parents who have been patiently waiting for new stock – we sincerely apologize. The unfortunate circumstances around our manufacturing partners, rising costs of premium quality materials, and pending tariffs on all Chinese made products were all added elements behind our decision.
But at the crux of it, sometimes you have say "no" to some things in order to say YES! to something else. And for us at g, that means recognizing there are dozens of companies who make great cloth inserts for our gPants (the magic is in the pouch – so any absorbent material inside will work!). This allows us to focus on our ambitious vision of eliminating plastic disposable diapers from the planet by shifting the global market into compostable materials. Watch gDiapers co-founder Kim Graham-Nye’s TEDx talk and learn about our plans to bring diapers into the circular economy and get plastic off our babies and out of diapers for good. No plastic. No landfill. No waste.
If you’re looking for a cloth insert recommendation, your best resource are your fellow gMums and dads in the gMum Community who can point you to local and online solutions. Below are a few suggestions generated from the group. But again, the gPants pouch will work with nearly any cloth insert so you should have no trouble finding a suitable cloth option.

I really hope this isn’t forever… I’ve always loved gDiapers (I started using them in 2011 and plan to use them again with our new arrival) and it was the BEST hybrid system, and was HOSPITAL APPROVED when my son had emergency surgery at 5 weeks old, because of the disposable inserts being an option! I have yet to find anything that compares to how amazing the hemp inserts are though, and I’ve been searching for used ones just to have that trusted quality and absorbency. If it’s a cost issue with manufacturing… I would honestly be willing to pay more, and I’m sure I’m not alone in this. I even like using them as extra nighttime layers with prefolds and covers/wool covers because they were just so superior but still incredibly soft against sensitive skin. If it’s a lack of materials… I know that in the USA, Tennessee has a large amount of hemp farmers whose contracts just fell through and are desperately seeking buyers!! Maybe you could be their saving grace all the while bringing back the reusable inserts! I’m an optimist… a very hopeful optimist 💚
