Thank you to John Kinnear, of Ask Your Dad Blog, for joining in the “This takes guts” blog series, just in time for Father’s Day.
Being a Dad Takes Guts
I was never truly brave until I became a dad. I was never truly brave, because before becoming a father, I was never truly afraid. Like a fortune cookie once told me: Bravery is not the absence of fear. Bravery is being afraid and doing it anyway. Lucky number 978268545.

Thank you to Scotty Schrier, of Dads Who Change Diapers, for joining in the “This takes guts” blog series, just in time for Father’s Day.
I used to be smart. I used to be calm, cool, collected. I was in control …
then I had kids.
In the last four years, I have questioned every belief I’ve had. I’ve even questioned my sanity. And I wouldn’t change a second of it.

Parenthood takes guts. Raising another human being to be the very best human that they can be is no easy endeavor. So how do we do it? One. Breath. At a time. Thank you to Jason Graham-Nye, CEO and co-founder of gDiapers, for kicking off our “This takes guts” blog series, just in time for Father’s Day.
Fatherhood is quite the trip.
With no instruction book included, early on at least parenting seems to be a series of stumbles and falls and then a semblance of survival. My kids are 8 and 10 now and I still have very little idea about what I’m doing. The major reference point for us all (for better or worse) is how our own fathers pulled it off.

One mama’s quest for community involvement and community engagement turned out to be, in a word: delicious. In two words: delicious chaos. In three words: inspirational delicious chaos. We could go on and on. Originally posted on The Intuitive Mama. Thank you to Jordann for letting us share some of the story here.
Chaos!
My moms’ group rocks! I feel so lucky to have been connected with such amazing, fun women. Yesterday was no exception. We decided to take on a huge project for one of our Moms’ group get-togethers. We cooked for 60 homeless youth at Janus Youth Shelter. In a normal situation, 8 women cooking for 60 people might not be such an undertaking, but there were also 8 VERY ACTIVE babies in the house while this was going on.

After 7+ years of covering your babies bums, we think it’s about time we told you who we are, what the heck we do here, and why the gosh darn we do it. So today we kick off our Meet the gTeam blog series with a game and a giveaway. The prize? A $50 gift certificate to use on gDiapers.com. Woo hoo!
How this will work:
- See if you can match the gTeam baby pic to the correct name.
- Leave a blog comment with your match guesses. Do as many as you want, but do at least a few. Because it’s FUN.
- Aaaaand that’s it. You’re then entered to win. The winner will be drawn at random from the blog comments on Monday, March 18, 2013. We’ll tell you the answers on Monday, too.
When the game’s all over, we’ll start rolling out some biographies, videos, photos, interviews, trivia and goodness knows what else about each one of us. Why? Because some of you have said you’d kinda like to know us a bit better. We’re just people that make earth-friendly diapers. But we have this here blog, and apparently, some time on our hands, so here we go!

Today I saw this ad for New York Life on the back of a magazine. It prompted me to immediately send a text saying “I just wanted you to know that you are indeed a hero to our kids.” What other brands have done this for you? What other ads have you seen that have inspired you to do something other than just buy their product?
